"The SL Yamaguchi is a popular steam-hauled excursion train operating between Shin-Yamaguchi Station in Yamaguchi Prefecture and the historic castle town of Tsuwano in neighbouring Shimane Prefecture.
Introduced in 2017, the Series 35-4000 coaches entered service as replacements for the 12 Series coaches previously used on the SL Yamaguchi. While incorporating modern technology and contemporary passenger amenities, their appearance is inspired by the classic passenger coaches of Japan's steam era. Combining a nostalgic exterior with a comfortable interior, these distinctive coaches have become highly popular with railway enthusiasts.
◆ The various locomotives used to haul the SL Yamaguchi service are also scheduled for release: C57 1 (2024-1) , DD51 1043 (7008-C ) , and EF65 1000 (3061-6).
