The 923-3000 Series 3000 T5 trainset, commonly known as “Doctor Yellow,” is a Shinkansen inspection train used on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines in Japan. It collects essential data used for track and infrastructure maintenance through comprehensive electrical and track inspection. The Doctor Yellow has long been a favorite among Shinkansen enthusiasts, children, and tourists.
The T5 trainset is scheduled to retire in January 2027. This model replicates the “Thank you” logos currently displayed on the door windows of Cars 1 and 7 and the Special Edition 7-Car Set will be faithfully reproduced to commemorate the retirement of this iconic yellow Shinkansen .
Features
Unlike standard Series 700 trains, the leading cars feature two-tone headlights to accurately reproduce the prototype's distinctive lights.
Side windows are reproduced with the roller blinds lowered.
The Special Edition 7-car set comes in a specially designed sleeve package.
