Product Description
Over 100 years since its debut, the beloved and historic electric locomotive “Rhaetian Crocodile” Ge6/6-I—still hugely popular on the Rhaetian Railway—is finally making its debut in N scale! The Ge6/6-I, also known as the “Rhaetian Crocodile,” is a six-axle, rod-driven box-style electric locomotive that made its debut in 1921 with the electrification of the iconic Albula Line. For decades, it hauled both freight and passenger trains, and remarkably, more than 100 years later, two units are still preserved in full working order. These legendary locomotives aren’t just for show—they regularly operate on seasonal and event services, often running alongside historic passenger coaches and open-air panorama cars.
Features
Build to Order
Models locomotive No. 414 in the design from 2023, which remains active today as a preserved working unit.
Replicates the distinctive rod-driven running gear, the bonnet that pivots with the bogies, and the asymmetrical body, with significantly different window and louver arrangements on each side.
The 100th anniversary commemorative nameplate, mounted on one of No. 414's crew doors, is reproduced with printed detailing.
The yellow handrails on the side of the crew room door are included separately as user-installable parts.
All three front lights illuminate, except for the central light between the front windows, which does not. The outer headlights feature silver rims as seen on the real unit.
Includes the large, uniquely shaped pantograph.
