Product Description
The Alpine Glacier Express runs through the European Alps in southwestern Switzerland from Zermatt to St. Moritz over two railroad companies, the Rhaetian Railway and the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn. On a slow 8-hour journey, it has become popular as a panoramic sightseeing train to enjoy the stunning views of the Alps from its windows. In 2019, the “Excellence Class,” an even higher level of first class, was introduced, bringing further changes to the traditional passenger cars.
Features
Includes the 647 locomotive. The design with the large Rhaetian Railway logo on the side has been replicated.
● Excellence Car
Features the iconic gold stripe and the words “EXCELLENCE CLASS” on the top of the side display.
Recreates the cab-end face where the gangway diaphragm has been removed
Seats and tables arranged in 1+1 rows, with a bar installed, and partially closed side windows.
● WR p (car containing the bar)
Replication of a bar where the seating has been removed and replaced with a counter-table format.
The chairs are an ivory colour, and the floor plate and bogie frame are a blue-gray.
Includes the end panel glass with a modified frosted glass design, and hopper windows on the passenger doors.
Both the first- and second-class cars feature updated seat colors, recreating the real train's updated interior with a black and brown color scheme.
The Api car imitates the interior where some seats have been removed to make space for additional luggage storage.
