Product Description
The Alpine Glacier Express runs through the European Alps in southwestern Switzerland from Zermatt to St. Moritz over two railroad companies, the Rhaetian Railway and the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn. On a slow 8-hour journey, it has become popular as a panoramic sightseeing train to enjoy the stunning views of the Alps from its windows. In 2019, the “Excellence Class,” an even higher level of first class, was introduced, bringing further changes to the traditional passenger cars.
Features
Modeled after the 643 locomotive.
The car number, emblem and logo (which has a different font from the 647 locomotive) has been accurately reproduced.
Reflects the updated design, especially the features around the lights.
Features revised placement of the electric coupler and hoses (jumper cables), and the front of the train displays the coat of arms of the canton of Graubünden. The emblem is accurately modeled in the form of a shield-shaped plate.
The brake hoses located on both sides of the lower front section (two per side) are reproduced as separate parts for added realism.
*DCC compatible by replacing the light circuit board with the <29-025 DN163K4a> (Hobby Center KATO product)
