Product Description
The Rhaetian Railway is one of Switzerland's largest private railways, with a network of over 400 km of track. It connects world-famous tourist destinations such as St. Moritz and Davos via trains like the Glacier Express. For the past 35 years, it has been a sister railway to Japan's Hakone Tozan Railway, maintaining an active exchange relationship, including naming of train cars. During the summer, the Rhaetian Railway operates open-air panorama cars. These bright yellow cars stand out vividly among the typically red Rhaetian Railway trains. Mainly coupled to the Bernina Express, local trains, and special services on the Bernina Line, these cars are extremely popular since they require no reservation or extra charge to ride.
Features
Modeled after car B2101 from the group B2096–B2102, built in 1990.
The side markings on the car body combine German and Romansh languages. When the deck is facing forward, the right side reads: "Rhätische Bahn" and "Aussichtswagen." The left side reads: "Viafier retica" and "Vagun panoramic".
The interior seating replicates the real-life layout of reversible cross seats, with a mix of 2-person side-by-side and 4-person face-to-face arrangements.
