Product Description
The E500 class is the first Japanese-built electric locomotive to be introduced in Taiwan. A total of 88 units were ordered to replace aging electric locomotives used by Taiwan Railway Corporation to haul the E1000-series coaches used on the “PP Tze-Chiang Limited Express”, as well as other passenger and freight trains. Built using the advanced manufacturing technology of Toshiba’s Fuchu Works, the locomotive features a straight, modular-structure body design and numerous jumper sockets on the front to allow connection with a wide variety of passenger and freight cars.

Orange body and skirt livery with black detailing above the cab doors around the side windows and above the rain gutters.
Straight-lined body design reflecting the modular structure of the prototype.
Characteristic details including recessed cab doors, large cab-side rain deflector, and thick vertical rain gutter behind the cab door are accurately reproduced.
Complex front-end detail with multiple jumper sockets.
To allow push-pull operation, the set includes a combination of a locomotive with traction tyres and one without traction tyres.
